Lake Hospital is open from mid-May to mid-September, Old Faithful Clinic is open from early May to mid October, and Mammoth Clinic is open year round to provide healthcare to Yellowstone's many visitors and employees. Although we treat a large number of routine problems in our clinics, the park setting presents a potential for a variety of challenging emergency situations to which we must respond. These range from motor vehicle accidents, thermal burns, animal maulings , and cardio-pulmonary problems due to high altitudes.
